Join this 2 day workshop to create your own version of my Hexie Rays quilt. The quilt is paper pieced. Prior knowledge of paper piecing is not necessary. However, this class is created for sewists who are of medium to advanced level. $50 non refundable deposit due to reserve your place in the class. CLASSES:
Zip and Boxed Cosmetic Bags
Zip Cosmetic Bag
3 Hour class, $30 per person, plus $5 for supplied materials of fleece and zipper, $5 for use of my fabric for bag
We will each construct a small cosmetic type bag, approx 10” wide x 5'“ tall x 2” wide at the bottom.
We will start the class by designing fabric to go into the bag. This involves patching together scraps of fabric you provide. We then go into quilting the fabric onto a fleece stabilizer for softness and texture. We will learn how to install a zipper by tabbing both ends and sizing the zipper to fit the bag. We will line the bag and box the bottom of the bag.
Wine Gift Bags
2 hour class, $20 per person, bring 2 fat quarters and a yard of ribbon or $10 extra for the use of my fabric.
T Shirt Quilt
7 hour class, $70 per person, plus $10 for use of my stabilizer, each student must supply at least 5 t shirts or other item of clothing for use in their quilt.
We will be constructing a lap sized quilt or a large pillow with your shirts. We will learn how to cut the shirts, stabilize them, center them, frame them, then mosaic the shirts into a small quilt top or pillow.
Owl Table Runner
6 hour class, $60 per person, plus $20 to purchase mini curve ruler. Students to supply one yard of background fabric plus 5 x 10” squares of mix and match fabric for owls.
We will learn how to create these cute owls. Learn how to cut curves and sew curves without pinning! We will put the owls into a table runner measuring approx. 52” x 15”
Paper Piecing Star
4 Hour class, $40 per person
Learn how to make this or a similar 16” star shape by using my paper piecing method. This consists of 8 sections that are individually paper pieced, then pieced together. It is a perfect size to finish off into a pillow or tote bag.
Paper Piecing, Draft your own Pattern
6 hour class, $60 per person
This class starts with a 2 hour drafting session. I will teach you how to take a photo, simply it, and draft it into paper piecing. Then we work on paper piecing your creation.
